How CaniSource is made

CaniSource is revolutionizing the commercial dog food industry. We start with 100% unprocessed/uncooked "Approved for Human Consumption", Canadian-sourced ingredients. The recipe is formed into a kibble and then slowly dehydrated at a low temperature to preserve the original nutrients. This produces a crunchy kibble that is not only perfectly balanced, but is also extremely palatable. Finicky dogs LOVE CaniSource! Unlike other dehydrated foods, there is no need to hydrate CaniSource. This gives the benefits of a raw diet with the convenience of a kibble!

Dog food processing temperatures

Extrusion is the most common method of processing dog food.  The extrusion process subjects the ingredients to extremes in both temperature and pressure. This destroys many of the individual ingredients' original nutrients as well as all enzymes that were originally present. Baking is another method of processing. While baking does not use quite the excessive heat of extrusion, it still subjects the food to temperatures high enough to destroy vital nutrients. This is why typical commercial kibble has uniform shapes and an oily residue - fats & oils are sprayed on (for palatability) with vitamins and minerals to the food since the processing destroys most nutrients.

CaniSource's method of dehydration gently removes the moisture from the food which preserves the food while retaining those vital nutrients and enzymes necessary for optimal health. This is why we can say it has the benefits of RAW with the convenience of a kibble!
